Problem with my new motor

Hey all,

Brought a 97 P reg GTI 8V a few weeks ago, first vw i've had and i'm well impressed with it.

Got abit of a problem tho:

Its abit juddery when driving along and has cut out a few times. It also nearly did it once when i was driving on the motorway, the rev counter went tits and the oil light lit up but i dropped it down a gear and kept it running luckily!

This morning when i went to go to work I fired it up and it would start up, go to 1000 revs and then drop straight to 0 revs and cut out. It done this 5 or 6 times before it fired up and was ok??!!

Any ideas whats could be up?

Check the stickey posts . Normal Mark 3 stuff to try .

Clean the Throttle Body
Change the Fuel and ECU Relays .

Ok cheers mate, will have look through them. Just thought it seemed abit worse than just being a relay but worth a try!
