Inner arch grinding on CV joint! Any solutions?
« on: 28 November 2003, 14:33 »
I am currently having a problem, i have got my car to a height that i think looks nice, but my O/S CV joint is catching on the inner arch, is there any way in stopping this without grinding out the inner arch or has anyone come across this problem before

I didnt think the CV joint could be rubbing as they are either attached close to the gearbox or the hub. You would have to move the gearbox to make them rub.

I think its more like the driveshafts are rubbing the inner arch and with a drop of 105mm I am not suprised. The torque steer effect from that must be immense and I would be suprised if your CV joints last that long as the angle of the shaft affects the way on which the force operates on the joint.

how much of an angle up do the driveshafts have?
