I've was told last thursday that mine was on the ship.  The dealer then went onto say that it should be here between 1 to 1 1/2 weeks.  He said it can take upto 4 days to load the cars on the ferry and then another 4 days to unload.  Then there's the transporter which will probably only go when there is enough cars on it.  Then the garage will do their cleaning and inspection.  I didnt expect the GTI to be coming until mid may so I am rather quite chuffed

My car was build week 12. (They only take a couple of days to make.)  It was at the dealers the following Tuesday.  I drove it off the forecourt on the Saturday, but it was available from the Thursday!.    mmmmmmm fresh meat.

Mine was built week 13 but obviously it is probably being delayed compared to the week 12 builds because they may ship in one go every 2-3 weeks.  It should be here by Friday14th April or latest beginning of the week after - so the stealer says

Now I know that the Mk5 GTI is meant to be the best thing since sliced bread but I really really miss my Mk2 16v - it only had 57k on the clock and drove beautifully.  I sold it to fund this purchase but can't stop thinking about it - best car I have ever had and I have had 14 cars in my time.  I think I will have to get another low-mileage on if I can find one when the bank balance recovers.

Once it arrives all will be forgiven

Our cars must be brothers lol

The Mk5 GTi is one of the best cars I have ever had - and I've had some cars!

You will love it man - I love mine and wont be pleased when I PX it for my noobie - Me and the missus are trying to work out if we can get rid of the GT TDi and keep the GTi!!!!

The other thing is, even though there more expensive when compared to the competition you dont ever feel short changed!

Our cars are will probably be on the same ship.  I popped into the dealers today and he said that it takes 10 dys to get from being ready for the ship to the dealer.
