I'm replacing the top soon on my CAB, The instructions on the new top states that i have to use my old window. How do I safely remove the window?

You'll have to cut the complete window and metal frame out of the roof. Before you go slicing away though, there are two thick canvas straps that run the length of the roof. They are fixed to the top edge of the rear window frame and run the length of the roof. Be careful not to cut through these as you may need to use them in your new roof.

Also make sure you don't damage the rubber seal around the frame.

Good luck!

Alright.. Dont cut large straps.. Check. Now once I have removed the glass is it hard to re-install? Do i need to relace the seal? Thanks.

No installing the glass is easy, but you need two people and make sure you don't cut away too much of the hood for the window, leave loads and trim once you have the window in place and hood around window frame.

I'll second that. The glass, metal frame and rubber seal should ideally be kept as one piece, you don't need to take the glass out the frame. If the seal is in good condition then I don't see why you would need to use a new one.

The hole you cut for the rear window frame will be a lot smaller than the frame itself but as Madone says, you trim away the excess once the frame is in place.

And get a mate to help!

no need to cut anything, you should be able to push/pull it out no problem, came out fine when we replaced the hood on our cabby.  Its only the front screen you have to cut the seal to remove!

The hard part is cleaning off all the old sealant from the seal, takes ages and is one of them horrible boring jobs that last forever

Good luck, and I hope your rear frame is ok, most of them are rotten right through!
