oh i see, so if i need the full track rod for the passenger side , is it a big job to take apart? is there anything else i might aswell change if i got to do this?

right i'm having problems removing my left side track rod, theres supposed to be alocking nut but i cant see it, can anyone point it out to me on this picture?

if ya look closely, the locking nut is the slightly different coloured bit to the left right up against the threads with a flat on it, the rod end has its own flats near the rounded end

what the bit with the red arrow below?, i know my posts make me look like a bit of a numpty, but i think its always best to check
i did think it was that but i couldnt see a way of geting anything on to it to loosen it, any suggestions? and once thats off is it just a matter of with drwaing the rod or do i need to twist it off...............

I've hit them off in the past. hitting the hub not the trackrod end!
I've also used the proper tool from time to time

dizzie, i think you jumped a stage there mate
, so once i got this locking nut loose , i gotta smack the hub to seperate parts A and B in the picture

guys really struggling to undo the locking nut due to lack of space and cant get a tool on part B due to brake line , how on earth do you seperate the two parts?

try undoing the rack mounting UJs and slide it across a bit, might be able to get more clearance that way?
