Heater Broke ????
« on: 22 November 2003, 11:27 »
Heater broken. It still blows, but only luke warm.  Any ideas?  Only thing checked so far is the fuse, which is fine.   I did have the dash/trim/etc off the other day to change the speedo cable, could i have knocked/broken something in the process..?
Any help much appreciated, frosty this mornin, brrrrrrrrr!!

i had the same problem . the bloke who had my car before me fitted a new heater matrix but still only cold air . thanxs to this forum found out about the bypass valve's fitted new ones from volkswagon and they worked a treat . they cost about ?28.00 inc VAT which is'nt bad for volkswagon . lots of lovely heat . real toasty . oh and they only take about 10 mins. to fit bargain!!!!!

Changing the by-pass valve does seem to cure the problem in most cases.
