Anyone got/had these?

I've just purchased some component speakers to go in my car, was wondering if they're any good by someone who owns/owned some?

Planning on kitting the whole car out with PG audio as they look nice, from what I hear they sound good, and they got my initials on them lol

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Pheonix audio is good kit the speakers have a nice crisp sound and the amps are crystal clear with minimum distortion been around a long time so some bargains to be had on fleabay too.

Yeah, I totally forgot about eGay when buying the speakers lol, but saw I can get 2 10" subs for £60, when RRP is £60 for one lol!

i had a pg sub for a while. was very good quality, not the loudest but punchy. could do a lot worse than them!

when u say kittin the whole car out what are you plannin? less is more in my opinion. Get a good amp, front components and a sub or two runnin off it and leav it at that. it will keep the sound stage towards the front of the car givin you the best of the noise. Some may disagree but its how mine is set up and the sounds amazin. Plus buyin less kit means you can spend more on each bit so they can be better quality!

thats the best mk3 ive seen..ever! its just clean and subtle..

I'm changing all the standard speakers to PG speakers, then getting 2 subs for the boot. Not getting 6x9's as they will interfere with the subs and make the noiser a poorer quality.

the Octane R range of speakers are good if you want to run speakers off the headunit. The ZR provide slightly more power handling which is good if you're planning on running them off an amplifier.

I'm running a 12" xenon sub in my 20v golf and it sounds spot on. Make sure you have a quality amp to run it all as that'll get the best out of the kit :)

Cheers for the info, Dizzie.

Do you know if there's anyway to change the cathode on the Octane R's?

Got my speakers on Wednesday, but need to fit connectors to them in order to run them... problem is I haven't got a clue where to start :( So if anyone can help me on that side of things, I would be vary much obliged.

Thanks in advance :)
