Engine mounts???

Ive got a firm suspension setup. Ive just overcome a 'click' noise from the front topmounts but now i get a loud rattle.

Im thinking the engine mounts are causing that rattle noise?

Also when the car is on the 'biting point' it makes that rattle noise.

Must be the engine mounts then. what you think ?

Could well be. Get a mate to rev the engine on the clutch while you watch it leap up, watch for excessive movement at any of the mounts.

im pretty sure its the mounts. How many are there to change and is it easy?

there is 3 mounts, front, rear & gearbox mounts

you can use the later hydro mounts found on the 16v for the front & rear, and just use a std gearbox mount.

i got charged 2 hrs labour for fitting all 3 mounts

fairly straightforward as long as you have a decent trolley jack to change them.
