Oil being forced out of cambox cover??
« on: 23 January 2006, 07:01 »
As the title suggests, what do you think could be the cause.

the engine has just been rebuilt, with a 2.0L 8v bottom end, here are my thoughts....

1.  The oil pump is a high pressure one & is forcing the oil out
2.  The breathers have been blocked off in the block & this is causing mass back pressure
3   The rings have gone in the bottom end (but it doesn't smoke at all  )

p.s. the oil being forced out of the cambox is ending up on the mainifold & burning NICE!

Breathers aint blocked are they or put in wrong? They will have to have ahd some sort of breather fitted to engine or it will just find the easiest way to blow out the oil. Breather i usually vented from block to air filter box. What they said 84_mk2? I was actually speaking to mark from dubsport today get both NOS bottles refilled on the clio 172 cup.

I found out that TSR has blocked to breather from the block, so the only breather I had was from the cambox  So they are going to take the plate off the block & attach them my.  Apparently you use the mk2 16v breather pipes from the block.

So I was currently driving my missus fiesta until the clutch pedal gave way

well the std MK2 8v only has the breater on the rocker cover?  If you wanted to use the one on the front you could get the 2.0 8v breather pipes & fit the rocker cover as well, this is what I'm planning to do :)

Shaft69 my engine block is silver

Dubsport are going to attach the breather pipes from the block.  I don't understand why TSR would put a blanking plate on the block?

Could the blanking plate only be used for digi 8v's & not K-jet 8v's ???:undecided:
