Smoking - riings or stems??
« on: 22 January 2006, 22:13 »
Car smokes when left idling for more than a few minutes. Never on start up, never when using the power, just idling. Was thiking it must be stems but is this just wishful thinking?

Thanks mate. I wouldn't even attempt it - I fix PCs not cars :) There's a place here that does it for £70 apparantly. Sound about right? Don't suppose there'd be any saving in getting the cambelt done at the same time?

If you're getting the head taken off to do them then deffo new timing belt and tensioner. Last set I did was without removing the head as the leak down tests were good.

Thanks to both. Like the look of your alloys, silkyballs (boy it feels uncomfortable referring to another male by that name  )

Aye, the colours a bit funny on pic sig pic, due to sunlight, bad camera etc. But it's the same colour as yours, the storm gray. So have you still got the twin light grill on? I have with an eyebrow spoiler thingy, looks the dogz. C'mon you 5 doors!
