**How do you remove this stuff??**

Hiya ppl, ive just gone to fit some 90 spec door mouldings to my car but i have the red coach line which runs above the existing "fat mouldings, ive pulled it off now but its left horrible old double sided tape stucj to it, Anyone Know how to get it off??

hair dryer one a warm setting (not hot! just warm enough to loosen the glue) :)

he's right, you know...

Or a really diluted solution of acetone will work, but you have to work quickly and wash it off straight away, you know what, do as hypnotoad says....less chance of making your paint bubble away...

Age is on your side though! Glue doesnt last forever :) Warm water may even loosen parts.

Just make sure u start with the dryer on cold and turn it up slowly until u get to the loosest setting that will soften the glue. If it seems to be getting too hot and the glues not budging turn it off :)

Oh and if u need to use something as a 'scraper' to move it away from the paint dont use anything metal! use something in very soft plastic, like a fish-slice

lol, a fish slice!! thanks for your advice, see ive just got some 90spec skirts arches and door mouldings, got the arches on no problem, having a right nightmare fitting the sideskirts though,the retaining strips have little bits broken off in places,going to have to replace them £12 from gsf,

go to chavfords and buy that sticker remover liquid stuff you cheapskate  :wink:

thats like the way that runs out the back off the boots corners, i find autglym polish usually gets it off!! maybe a good polish will help remove sticky? but i'd go with blue./ he's generally right.... cocky lil....

i know it sounds daft but try WD40 it usually removes glue and sticky stuff no problem :grin:
