halfords shampoo, hand dry then mer polish. Ever since I went to a car show and watched a bloke use mer polish on a bonnet... he then poured lighter fluid on top, dropped a match.... once the fire had burnt itself out he wiped the bonnet with a rag.... good as new! Though it costs me a fortune in lighter fluid and the neighbors always look a bit nervous when I get the bucket out!

Last time i cleaned car..rinsed whole car with warm water..stuck sum alloy cleaner on wheels, gave them abit of a scrub..wash car with zymol, actually took trim off as well and back to blacked that-note* i use sep sponges for wheels n body as im convinced thats how i got scratches on car before-rinse car with warm water again(unless using jet spray)...whilst thats dryin..put hood down :smug: clean windows and dash..and hoover,if water isnt drippin anywhere..then polish with zymol and actually using an old t-shirt atm

zymol is the stuff for me, havent found better. use lehm kaly too after washing but before waxing, it removes all the little bits in your paint that sponges cant pic up.

I always use Autoglym - the green one, i think. Then i rinse it and use the autoglym rubber squeegee thingy, which saves LOADS of time with leathering, cos you then only need to do the odd bit here and there! It always brings it up shinier with autoglym than any other shampoo i use! I then use trade bumper black on all bumpers trim etc... then autoglym car glass polish, then trade tyre black on tyres and hoses under bonnet. Sometimes i use autoglym polish, others i use turtle wax. Normally always looks like new again :smug:

1. Vacuum Car
2. Clean Interior Windows with Glass Polish
3. Clean Interior Trim
4. Rinse off exterior with hose or Pressure washer. inc alloys
5. Wash car with cloth (not sponge...spounge can trap grit) rinse cloth regular. Use car shampoo, not washing up liquid.
6. Wash alloys.
6. Drive car round block. (removes excess water)
7. Chamois and cloth dry car.
8. Apply Kiwi scuff guard to bumper etc. (mines a 90 spec Mk2!)
9. Polish paint. Polish exterior windows with glash polish
10. Wax Car.

More can be added to above like interior upholstry cleaner etc...depending if u can be arsed.
Or some steps removed....!

I use mostly Autoglym, but some of there products are better than the others.

I have found that for the ultimate finish (it ain't cheap but it works), use washing up liquid to remove any old wax and to just clean the car, then use Autoglym Super resign polish, buff that off and then Autoglym extra Gloss protection.
A mate of a mate gave me this tip, he used to use it on his Lambo. It cleans and then gives the car a coating almost like another layer of lacker.
After you have done this you can user any old car wash to clean it.
