Amp wont work

hey guys i brought an amp, and i plugged it all in as you do, ive done these so many times... the protection light comes on but not the power light?

Any ideas?

connected it up without speakers or RCA's connected?

just tried amp and sub with my mates exisiting wires, it works! Any ideas now guys?
