it'll make it louder and let warm air form the bay in. dont do it.

replace the filter with a performance panel one and put 70mm ducting from the grille next to the horn.

Will work fine as long as you ONLY drill wing side and front of the box.

if your just after induction noise, go ahead. if you want more performance, drilling your airbox will make no difference whatsoever. if an enclosed  kit like a viper or similar only give a few bhp , a few little holes with no additional airflow to speak of would be worthless.

Drilling the airbox correctly and adding a performance panel filter will add a few extra bhp, so worth it for the money, stock air intakes are deliberately restrictive to reduce noise. However what people generally are unable to grasp is that such a mod will do more for the driveability of the car. Its not the overall gain the counts, its the fact that mid range torque will improve noticeably.

sorry guys i have to disagree here, when i had my congi with a k&n filter and straight through zorst from the cat back the car sounded absolutly mint some people said it sounded like a vr6 but now ive put it back standard with a little hoover size pipe for a forced air into the airbox it sounds quiet as hell but the car goes like fook now!
so id say forget the k&n forget the zorst just keep it standard and just put a pipe from the front of ur car to the air box, also its now doing 100 miles per £20 where before it was only doing 50 miles per £20

Looking at the photos you've obviously done what you described. Has it made any difference ?

i think so , i did it almost as soon as i got the car so it's hard to remember. i think it seemed to rev more freely and be a little more eager to pull when you floor it. nicer sound when booted but no noise difference under normal driving .nothing massive but worth it for £50 .
