German number plates for UK cars

So does anyone know if I put German style number plates on my golf's will I get the old bill nicking me all the time?

Depends how bored they are... I don't get any trouble, but then I hardly use my car!

i drive mine daily and havent had any problems with them, been on the car for over a year now...although like dom says it depends if they are bored and what the cops are like in your area

Word of warning - next year the government is apparently gonna be cracking down on all non standard plates, or so I have read..............

It's to do with the ANPR cameras (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) which at the moment are used for identifying cars with no tax/insurance. These cameras are due to be upgraded to double up as speed cameras and will be able to track vehicles by their number plate. ANPR cameras cannot read "show plates" (anything non-standard), therefore Big Brother Blair will be making such plates totally illegal.

Might be just hearsay, but I wouldn't be suprised at all, Blair does seem to be on a crusade against motorists............

I order my german plates from Dubmeister yesterday and they arrived today - on car now

I have had them on both cars for a few months now - drive the polo daily and not a blink from the pigs 

Got mine from germanplates.com - can't fault the service, Ive had 3 sets, all arrived within a week of ordering!

I dont get the problem with ANPR cameras etc and german plates. Surely they have the same sort of cameras in germany (?) and the plates are reflective, eu marked i think?, easy to read and road legal in a country once run by Hitler 

I see quite a few illegible plates - thats what they should be cracking down on tbh  (owner of WIL8017 - squiggly letters made out so it says 'WILSON' f**king tightarse, get a proper numberplate  )

Could i get away with them on a left hand car?    Would not look out of place.
