couple of install questions
« on: 10 December 2005, 11:26 »
im going to wire uo 2 monitors and a tv sony tv tuner into my mk4 today but i want to know the best way to do it.

I have an amp already in the boot (which is where the tv tuner is going) and i want to know if it would be ok to wire the tv tuner, expansion pack and booster aerial off the amplifier wiring ?? or do i hae to run them directly to the battery instead?

Also im wanting to chane the standard Head unit, Its a casette  din size and a din sized CD below it, Ive looked through my manual and cant find anywhere that says it has a security code. Does anyone know if they do have one? I dont fancy taking it out if i dont have the code to put it in another car. It has what looks like a security code flashing LED when its powered off but i aint sure?

Any help will be great, Thanks

Depending on the gauge of wire you used, you can put a distribution block in the Boot and use the same wiring, if you think its too thin, rip out the power wire, get some damn thick power wire and use that with the distribution block.

i have a 4 gauge power wire - should be ok i hope.

For now I have soldered them all to the power cable but i don hae the amp running yet. Will the addition of the amp cause any problems the way i have it now or will i defo need to get a distribution block?? Not that they are expensive, im just too damn lazy
