Cheers rj :embarassed:
I also meant to add that it is quite a poor starter. I put in new battery so it cranks over really well but it is really reluctant to fire up. When it finally does the starter seems to turn over really slowly just before the car starts then it will start and stop fine until the next day????Pisser

So far as your problems with it starting go, obvious place to start looking (assuming you haven't already) is the spark plugs, make sure the gap is correct.

Hi there
fair point.
I put in new plugs but did not check the gap.
Could be something in that
Thanks

it sounds like it just needs setting up properly by someone who knows what they're talking about. you need to get the timing set up, then check for any vacuum leaks and any damage around the crankcase breather bung in the rocker cover. then re-set the ecu and go from there. but the blue temp sender causes more problems than you'd imagine!

How did you know that I know nothing?

I have thought about that but hoped that I could find the problem.  I suspect that timing may be out but should it go so fast if the timing was f**ked?
Does anyone know of a good and cheap digi fixer in South/Central Scotland?
Cheers
