How will you power it all?
Will it be hooked up to your existing head unit?
Did you also know that you can get freeview usb dongles or cards, could get tv in your motor too!

Right, you have really got me thinking now and im really seriously considering this route for in car entertainment myself. Can i ask lots of q's?

1. How do you manage the whole shutdown/startup routine you gotta go through with a pc?

2. What software are you planning on using if any?

3. How does the wireless internet in y car thing work? Do you have to subscribe to a service provider or anything?

4. Do you need to use a particular type of screen for vga?

5. Will you need a keyboard?

6. Can you run the sound straight from y pc to some amps and control it without the need for a pc?

7. Can you get a pc card that will do radio or even better digital radio?

8. Do you need a special pc or will any old thing do?

9. Is there a way of using the whole set up as a bluetooth car kit for y phone?

I think I am missing the point here. What is the purpose of installing a pc in your car?

You got any pics of your dad's split ?

I think its a great idea. You have a single touch screen up front with all your needed menus.

From one unit that can always be added to or upgraded you can play DVD's CD's MP3's VCD's Radio GPRS Bluetootch car kit, Internet and email, Car video security with remote viewing from home (imagine you car was stolen and your in car black box is showing you at home who is driving and where!) plus the possibility for much more..

Not many other units on the market can do all that and still be upgradeble or futerproof.

Ahhh I see, think I'm becoming a technophobe in my old age, there was a time when I would have drooled over such stuff in my car. Nowadays I can't be @rsed to learn how to use most things. Having said that though I am planning a DVD setup in my camper but can't find a setup that will do everything I want (I guess that's where the build your own approach comes in). Think I'll just stick to enjoying corners in the golf though.
