iam starting to give up on the car
« on: 25 November 2005, 09:40 »
following some of my mates last night down the M25, considering they have a 500bhp skyline, a  GTO and a MR2, wasnt doing to bad dare i say till i got to 70mph then i could feel threw my stearing wheel my front wheels wandering really badly, as well as the strong crosswinds that dangerously blew me into the next lane it felt like i was gonna spin off the motorway.. so i had to go up the M25 at 60mph, being wobbled by the winds and watching everyone else doing silly speeds and not being affected by the wind at all  ... whats up with that!!
me not happy with the car today and fed up having to repair it all the time, god knows whats wrong with the front wheels now, but i can feel a very slight vibration when i brake from say 60mph now as well

GRRR GRRR GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Could be any number of things, warped discs, suspension bushes etc.

But I really think you should get it sorted before something serious happens.

We dont wanna lose you!

its alright driving on normal roads but as soon as i go fast like on motorways thats when the problem starts, my front wishbone bushes need replacing although i was told there not all that bad as yet but that was a month ago.. my rear bushes are knackered tho.

Hopefully my mates mate is fitting my new exhaust today, so that mite make me feel happy again, and i might get him to check the front if he aint to busy..

Golfpro my badges just say    2.0 lol

If I were you I would take it to a good wheel alignment place. Not just your usual Kwik-Fit place but one that will check all the stuff like toe-in and camber.

Sounds like you have some bad alignment problems.

i had the wheel alignment done a month ago when i had my lowering springs fitted, apparently i had quite a bad toe out problem on the front passenger side, but i never knew and didnt experience any problems with it like that, and at least i could cruise at 90, and ive not noticed any wear on my new tyres that have now done 2000miles.. so iam confused, could the wishbone bushes be the problem??

worth gettin the alignment checked again id say coz your springs will have bedded in a bit now and it could have affected it all. pass on the wish bone thing tho, i thought thats what comes out of a chicken

If wishbone bushes are worn they could be the cause of the problem!

I would get those replaced then the alignment check.
