g60s, Rallyes and Syncro

Okay I've read everything I can find on google. But I still can't figure them out. A g60 is front driven 8v with the gladder? Rallye is same but 4x4. Although some g60 can be syncro, which is not the same as the permanent 4x4 in Rallye (someone needs to explain to me how syncro works)? Then there is the g60 ltd which was a 16v gladder and prolly my dream (being the operative word) car as a 16v fan? I know Rallye has the very different look, which I don't like. Are there any g60 syncro or Rallye in 16v (not aftermarket converions)? But if anyone knows much about these variants please share

All the G60s are 1.8 8v supercharged as far as i know. Some are synchro, which is permanent 4 wheel drive, split 60/40.

So what sets Rallye apart from a g60 syncro in the engine department then?

I think they are the same. I thought there is the g60 and the rallye that is a synchro. Anyone?

One history I read said that the Rallye was 7.6 0-60 and the G60 was 7.1. Not sure about that because G60 supposed to be slower than a 16v on 0-60 (according to another site).

My understanding is very simple:
G60 - supercharged 8v engine developing 160bhp front wheel drive
Rallye - as above but with 4 wheel drive
G60 - limited edition - 210bhp front wheel drive
Simple as that.
The G60 and Rallye share a part number 357 code, which is also the part number for some 16v parts, but not all.

Yer limited got much of that extra power from using the 16v engine with the g-lader I think. This chart is really helpful:

Rallye is slower than a G60 cos 33% of power is lost in the drivetrain in the synchro system.

Yer and mods aside, on paper a g60 is slower on 0-60 than a 16v heh. But I think that all the bhp making contact with ground can only be good.
Shall we all chip in and buy a limited on time share
Saw one for sale somewhere. Don't jabba do rhd conversion for 2k?
