Diverter Valve Replacement

I've just bought a brand new Forge D.V., & have noticed that the top 'stem' on it where the vacuum hose attaches, is a bit thicker than the standard one.

Now, my question is..... Does my current hose keep splitting when I try & slide it onto the D.V. because of it's age (5 years - ie. gone brittle), or is it just because the pipe is too thin, & even a brand new one won't fit.

Do I need to get a vacuum hose fabricated?

they get brittle with age and crack, you may find its even cracked under the braiding somewhere, effectively leaving your DV constantly open and loosing most of the boost. a new hose will slide on, although it is a tighter fit than the standard dv.

Yeah I used my standard one with no probs, stick a tiny bit of washing up liqud on the DV and it will help the pipe slide on :smiley: :smiley:

Cheers for the swift responses, chaps.

Forge were kind enough to send me some silicon hose F.O.C., so have used this.  It's not braided though, so not sure how long it will last, especially with the 'upped boost'! :laugh: (Have got enough for a couple of spares, though). :cool:

the braiding is just there to disperse heat away from the rubber (thats what makes it go brittle eventually), you dont get that problem with silicon hoses so no worries :cool:
