anyone else noticed there motor running a lot faster now that it has gotten colder?  My question is why doesnt it run like this all the time? :grin:

hot air is less dence. that means less air can be crammed into your cylender. However temps upsally only effect turboed motors.

half right. as you say cool air is more dense, i.e richer in oxygen. more oxygen = bigger bang. nothing to do with cramming air into cylinders :laugh:

Know what you mean my car goes much faster when it gets cold! Kinda sucks dont it, cold weather, car goes like stink in all the ice and frost when struggling for grip anyway! On the bright side though my heater has packed up so although im cold i get there faster! :smiley:

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning when taking the  kids to school ,(and yes I do know the reason for it  :rolleyes: )but the car was going so well I was thinking it might be about to blow-up   :laugh:
It'd be intereasting to put it( or any car) on a rolling road to see the difference in BHP/Torque on a cold winters day compared to a hot summers day   :undecided:
