In terms of oil temperature at what sort of temp do u all start to put ur foot down, in a morning i dnt really have time to let it sit and warm up, although i do for a little bit. But when i set off to work it usualy takes about 5 mins of me driving like i am driving on eggshells and taking it to about 2k rpm at the most, but when it gets to 50 degrees C i can put my foot down a bit more!

is anyone else doing the same or do u let it get warmer first?

I always keep mine below 3 - 3.5k until its up to 80 degrees...even then I dont really give it any til its nearer 90..
08.03.10 - 3, maybe 4 weeks, and I want my golf back on the road!

i keep it nice and easy till it warms up properly, around 70 normally. mind you it'd take that long before you get out of traffic anyway!!

and as for the cold air affecting rolling road figures.... with any luck we'll all be happy after the 26th!!
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

think i will let my valver get a bit warmer before i put my foot down, like 70-ish then!
but its usually just on the way to work and there isnt enough time to get about 3.5k rpm anyway!
