It looks brilliant, Garwen!

Good pointers by Joe too. I also would ask to double and triple check they take out the transport blocks. Sometimes they ‘forget’

For the wheel caps, I was under the impression you had to the spec the £160 something option as dynamic wheel caps when configuring it? UK website doesn’t show it as standard. If not, well sh!t I spec’ed the wrong thing but adding that option, I didn’t know they were standard spec.

Yeah I’m not actually 100% sure they are standard either but pretty much every press shot shows them and VW’s own configurator images show them fitted too as you build the car. Agree, they don’t make it very clear though.

I've seen 2 or 3 pop up on my Facebook feed sitting in VW showrooms in the last day or two - and all of them have the spinning centre caps fitted.

The centre caps are always a dealer fit. Same on my CS as I’ve ordered the dynamic caps too, which get put on once car arrives

Dealer fitted yes, but the factory will have left them in the boot for fitting. In the case of the Edition 50, I would presume the factory leaves a set of spinning GTI caps in the boot rather than the static VW set.

In your case, you should make sure that the dealers give you the original factory-supplied set too. Better you have them than the dealers.

Centre caps and that black covers in the wheel bolts are allways fitted during PDI, otherwise they are stolen during transport.

Collected my ED50 today from dealer in the North East 😀 so happy with the colour, there is so much black gloss going on that the red just fits perfect. Wheels compliment it perfectly. Centre spinning caps included as standard, no plaque :(

No pics yet as unfortunately drove it very sensibly straight to the detailers for front end (and side sills) PPF and ceramic coatings next week. Don’t expect it back until Thursday or Friday. Loved it though. info screen is actually really good, velour steering wheel nice, engine noise, nice 🤣 felt the nuts. My only question mark would be the ED50 badges, they are effectively stuck on, which, let’s see how that goes over time.

Maybe worth checking back with the dealer on the badge but sounds like everything else was a win!

Only slightly jealous

Hoping a local dealer gets one soon as waiting to see a green one in person.

*sure I watch a video where they were showing a suitcase that would come with the car as a surprise gift.  Guess this if true is maybe the German market?
