Car detailing advice/experiences please

I have done some research and this is what the Infinity Wax website says:-

"Synergy 2 is made from a high-content polysilazane ceramic resin with a blend of low VOC solvents that allow the coating to be easily spread and leveled. A polymer is added that bleeds through the ceramic and forms a top layer over the coating. This protects the vulnerable ceramic as it cures, and allows the coating to be applied to vehicles outdoors without causing failure. Synergy 2 when applied correctly and not washed for 7 days after application will reach 9H hardness just like the longer term coatings.

I have googled some reviews and found out that the Infinity Wax Synergy 2 is a ceramic coating which is generally well-regarded for its ease of use, durability, and ability to provide a glossy, hydrophobic finish. Users report it as a great option for paint protection, its also praised for its ability to help keep vehicles cleaner for longer and reduce the need for frequent washing.

There’s an interesting long term review by a forum member over on the Detailing World website of Infinity Wax Synergy Lite v2 (I’m assuming v2 is the latest version of the product) - the one year version. I don’t know whether the ‘Lite’ product is the one you’d be getting or if it’s a slightly different version to the one your detailer would be using, but the review is quite positive and its unique selling point seems to be less prep work required before application, it can be applied outdoors and there’s very little curing time required. It also seems to contain some sort of fillers that may ‘hide’ or improve the appearance of light blemishes in the paintwork.

So it does seem it’s an ideal product for a mobile detailer to use outdoors, and ideal for the DIY enthusiast who doesn’t have indoor space / facilities to apply a ceramic coating. I suppose the acid test is whether or not Infinity’s durability claims hold up - based on the review on Detailing World on a BMW X5 that gets very little love and attention, the product’s durability does seem to be holding up pretty well.

As a hobbyist detailer, I would be tempted to give it a go as a product I could apply myself. However, I would need to use up my supply of old school wax first, and that might take many years!

I had my black 8.5 done at a few days old. G techniq 5 year coating with Exo. Think it was around £470 and well worth it, especially on a black car. Although a little wasted as I sold the golf after 6 months! Pictures don’t really do it justice, but the finish was immaculate
