Battery low voltage
« on: 16 March 2025, 12:49 »
My 2020 PP is starting fine and stop start is working fine. However, my battery voltage seems to always be low. Today, voltage was 11.9v after sitting for 2 days. Even after a run, it's rarely more than 12.3 V. I've only recently bought the car (VW Approved) so if the battery is on the way out, I'd look to having it replaced. I know that the car has some type of intelligent charging so maybe it just maintains enough charge? I've checked with the engine running and the alternator seems good. Any advice appreciated. Cheers

2019 plate with 33k miles - exactly the same.  Thought it needed replacing as there seems to be a red indicator light on all the time. Garage tested it and said it was fine just needed a good charge. Bought a charger off amazon, charged it up over 48 hours. Checked it again a couple of days later and it’s right down low again.  That said, not had any issues at all so just ignoring it now. I only do 1-2 trips per week, no more than 50 miles a week.

Or just code it out, using OBDeleven. I hate SS. PITA. So used a 10 credit option and turned it off permantantly.

Back along (early part of 2025) my 2018 seemed to half stall randomly when coming to a stop as if the SS was active (although I switch it off every journey), believe there's a service bulletin which recommends battery replacement in such cases, that done and never seen the problem since..
