Part number question
« on: 15 February 2025, 21:14 »
I need a new right temperature flap positioning motor, as it’s faulty.

I pulled it out of the car today, absolute pig to get out, and the part number is stamped on it is:

5Q0907511K

My question is, there seems to be many variations of this part, I messaged someone on eBay who has 5Q0907511A advertised, they said as it’s not the exact same as mine, as it has A on the end, not a K.

I was always under the impression the letters on the end meant a revision or something?

There are also ones advertised without an extra letter on the end, so 5Q0907511.

Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers.

Yep the letter on the end is the revision number. The "A" should fit but they fore some reason have been improved. Could simply be more glue on the foam seals. Have you checked the price of a new one from VW as on some rare occasions they are pretty decent prices on somethings.

Thanks, here’s the thing, before I pulled it off the car, my mechanic checked with VW and they said the part no is 5Q0898511 it’s £132.16 inc vat. Middle three digits different?

Suggest you check on lllparts. There is a parts diagram for golf gti 2013 to 2020. The two numbers you have are for right and left flap motors so the part number on the one you removed is likely the correct one. Can't help with the letter at the end. As Finglonga suggest likely a revision number.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

Doing a separate internet search on the part number returned the LLL Parts website in the search results. Clicking on it gives the following screen, which suggests you can order the part from them.

Here’s the link to the screen below;
