Golf GTI mk8.5: shop does not work

Hey everyone,
I'm having some trouble with my MIB4 system. Specifically, the following features aren't working:

Shop: It's just not turning on.
Web radio: I can't get it to scan for stations.
Car2X: This one's not working either.
I'm in Italy and I know a few other Golf 8.5 GTI owners who have the same issues. Even though I've checked my privacy settings and done a bunch of remote troubleshooting with weConnect, nothing seems to fix it.
I opened a ticket with weConnect in early October, and they told, me mid-month, that my dealership would be in touch to schedule a repair. But they didn't say what exactly they're going to do.

Has anyone else dealt with these problems? If so, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi baronebirra, I feel that your problem is to do with a connectivity issue, are you registered with WeConnect and set as the primary user? Do you have the correct data/privacy settings?? I’m in the UK with my privacy set to ‘share my position’ and internet radio and the VW shop work for me, Car2X is known as V2X now I believe, search for V2X within the digital manual within the infotainment system using the ‘Tips / Help’ APP for more info about V2X functionality.

the answers to your questions is yes to all, and after a remote reset from WeConnect support the Car2X or V2X function disappeared from the menu maybe due to the old certificate.
I can use the app/PC to interact with the car without any issue.

When I go in to ‘privacy settings and services’ in the USERS app, area alert and speed alert are showing as not available with the reason given as Deactivated by provider (We Connect Plus), this is to do with V2X permissions I believe, so there must be a problem their end, this will likely correct itself with a software update or dealer visit at some point. As for internet radio and shop, I cannot help, as mine works so far.

I'm in the UK and have exactly the same problem with the shop, internet radio and Car2x not working. I've reported mine to VW and have been wating 2 week now for their "advanced technical team".  I've now got the Globe icon in the top corner  greyed out for the past couple of days.

Might be good if you can report it as well.

I think it's another case of VW releasing poorly tested and buggy software again.

Incredible, after all of the "we are sorry we cocked up the mk8, we'll do the Mk8.5 and that will be much better"

And here we are again with all of the same problems - we connect connectivity, V2X, locking/unlocking and the automatic cruise setting speeds in KMH on UK roads.

Just needs some bongs and you'll have the complete set.

Still at least the heating controls are lit up at night... because thats the thing that everyone cares about right?

Fred, I’m not having these issues, the shop didn’t initially work just after I registered WeConnect, but 24hrs later it was working, (not that there’s anything to purchase for my car bar the data package) , the sign recognition works just fine too and now recognises national speed limit signs, it did not in my mk8! Everything about my 8.5 is better than the 8 I traded in. Absolutely loving it.

I’m in the UK and internet radio and shop works for me, I didn’t initially after I registered WeConnect and Primary user, but 24hrs later it was there and works fine.
How long have you had the car? It would be interesting to know if we’re on the same software version, is yours a GTI?

Thanks new2golf, I don't seem to have the DM option on my account.

My car is in the dealers at the moment and they at a loss with it being a new system. The  globe icon did light up and  work until a couple of days ago but the dealers are saying the car is not connecting to the VW back end servers since I picked it up just over a month ago.

Didn't  realise when I bought the car  I was signing up to be a beta tester
