I'm at a loss why there's no GTi 'Special Edition' at £39,999 to keep below the luxury car tax.
That’s not VW’s style.
As for the tax - it might be *just* £1640 over the period but it’s a point of principle for a lot of folk. £600 a year (which is a sum that needs proper budgeting for as far as regular people are concerned) for a small shopping car not a two ton SUV or luxury barge.
