Wanted to keep it under the luxury car tax as it’s part of a little fleet for us.

Congrats! I really quite like the white, especially with the updated rear lights, would probably be my choice too if I were not adding any options. Did they give an estimate of the delivery timeframe?.

Have they guaranteed the pre September price (£38,900 list)? When I changed my order yesterday things didn’t look quite right. Got the calculator out and realised it was £500 higher than the website (September price rise). They are honouring the pre price rise as I originally ordered in July

Does anybody here understand VW order status codes? My salesman tells me that my order has just changed to status (20), my understanding was that this is ‘factory ordered - production week confirmed’ ? But he tells me he cannot see any dates, and it is still at ordered status!?

Yes, Status 20 is Production Week Confirmed, so there must be a confirmed build week assigned to the vehicle.

I paid a lot less than that. There was one UK car available, its already at port and will be available for collection in 10 days time. They more or less matched the Drive the Deal quoted on one of threads in here.

Seems dealers have realised the <40k attraction. There is nothing in this sort of bracket under 40k and so ordered a load of non option cars. I even had choice of colour (including metallics)

Yes, Status 20 is Production Week Confirmed, so there must be a confirmed build week assigned to the vehicle.

That’s great! Not long to wait then, I firmly believe VW are very keen to get the 8.5 out on the roads, and are ensuring there is a good supply.
