Dogbone mounts
« on: 03 February 2022, 09:21 »
Looking for some advice on which way I should go with dogbone mounts.

Looking at 034 upper and lower but hearing that they introduce quite a lot of vibrations which I'm not keen on so also looking at the Revo puck option. Anyone used either of these that can offer any insight?

Cheers

Pleased with my 034, yes there are some vibes when you pull away slowly with low revs while you pass the clutch biting point. (I wouldn’t say ‘quite a lot’)

Kids and wife have never commented if that gives an indication.

Perfectly acceptable to me as there is so much benefit (traction).

It’s less noticeable on a more aggressive start.

No difference in NVH when moving.

I’m in Derby if you want a demo.

For £50 and 30mins to fit, it’s a no brainer.

Are you running the upper and lower or just lower?

I am running the Leyo Dogbone insert, at first there was a fair bit if vibration and rattles but it calmed down after a couple weeks/months of driving. I don't even notice it anymore, no rattles or vibrations.
It has helped alleviate wheel hop when you break traction and the transient response from off and on throttle acceleration.

Just the lower.

Fit it, try it, if you don’t like it I’m sure you’d be able to sell it on for £30

Went for the lower 034, hoping to fit this weekend so will update for those that might be interested themselves. I understand the NVH issue is quite subjective but I’ll try to give an honest update

I have had the 034 lower on mine for 7 years and the NVH is virtually zero and no wheel hop at all.

Only thing I would say is the car must be level when fitting, as in jack up both the front wheels or you will get NVH as the drive chain is twisted when fitting.
