It's a common fault and there is a TPI. Ask your dealer to refer to: TPI 2064607/2.

Can anyone post the description from that tpi and the resolution?

Nor mine. Think they greased "it" (not sure exactly what "it" is) and it made no difference. Got them to replace top mounts the last time and thats not it either. Not sure I can be bothered going back about it again. It's really weird as it's quite subtle and can be hard to reproduce, e.g. oddly it doesn't really happen on speed bumps, but I could get it when coming to a stop or moving off. Feels like its coming from somewhere low down, almost around my feet.
MK8.5 GTI Clubsport. Moonstone grey. Queenstown 19’s. DCC. Harmon Kardon sound. Pano roof.

Mine only happens when the weather is cooler, can’t hear it when the weather warms up. Only lasts for a few miles then its normal…weird!

Ok Fred, here's the dealer's solution to my GTI's squeaky suspension, as stated on the warranty paperwork. And, it worked for me.

Is what is referred to here as the ‘strut boot’, the convoluted dust cover over the bump stop? Are they suggesting it rubs on the bump stop causing a squeak?

Finally VW fixed the creaking/rubbing noise. They replaced the shock absorbers and CV boots which seemed to have sorted it

Is the TPI / boot replacement a warranty fix or not covered under VW's warranty?

Mine was all done under warranty (5 visits)

Noticed they put missing engine cover on as well

Had courtesy car each time
