1st Golf arriving Friday 😀🚘

Hi all, I joined a while ago as planning to get myself a golf GTi performance and wanted to check out bits and bobs on here with everyone’s huge knowledge on all things GTi. Eventually I’ve managed to get hold of one in the spec I wanted. It’s a 69 plate in grey, Brescia alloys and dsg. It’s arriving Friday afternoon and I cannot wait to take delivery of it. Other than the stunning looks of the golf I have been impressed by the nice attitude of all the users on here & anticipate me checking once it’s arrived for things everyone else knows and I can’t figure out lol. Ordered my number plate surrounds, mug, key ring & gti.co.uk stickers some time ago (safely kept in shed) which will now come out.
Needless to say that as a 44 year old man I feel like I’m 20 again. Stay safe all, keep up the great work on here 👍🏼

Sounds great, congratulations! If you fancy a few cheap cosmetic mods, changing the front footwell lights to red adds a nice touch (matches them to the red door and sill lights) and an Audi 12v socket plug for about a fiver is very worthwhile. Also the footrest can be easily changed for one that matches the pedals.

Only 5 more sleeps until you get your new toy :smiley:

How to post a photo would be a good 1st question.... Only got one until it arrives though.
Is the standard footrest plastic as opposed to metal?

To post photos you need to use a hosting site like photobucket. Postimg.org is popular being free, set up an account, upload you pictures and copy and paste the hot,ink for forums code into your post. Sounds a bit of a faff but it's not, dead easy.

The standard footrest is plastic, the replacements are capped in metal of some sort in the same style as the pedals.

That’s a very nice looking car. Indium and Isaac do look similar, depending on lighting.
It’s a brilliant car- enjoy it!
