Had mine washed this morning, first since getting it, only for it to start persisting down on collection

Oh god! Hopefully not somewhere that uses Brillo pads

Absolutely not, a local detailers. They use non-stick pads so perfectly safe

Short journey today and it's rather chilly so used the steering wheel heating for the first time. Lovely combo with the heated seat!

The heated steering wheel really is something I couldn't be without and everyone I know says the same thing, it really is a treat.

I didn’t think this one was worthy of a new thread…

Has anyone ever seen this issue in their MK8 or 8.5? I just noticed it on mine in the last few days. The silver “trim” strip on the mobile charging cover is flaking a bit. A bit odd considering I rarely touch it!

It’s very minor and I’m wondering if it’s worth the aggravation mentioning to dealer especially if the entire centre console has to come out to resolve it.

Wouldn't bother if I were you, it fills me with dread taking my car to the dealer inevitably when they get their hands on it they do more harm than good.

That’s a dilemma. The issue would bother me too but so would the thought of taking it to the dealership.
I’ll have a close look at mine later.

probably need a software update to remedy - £140 quid from dealers - its the usual answer nowadays for any hardware issue, just cover it up with a software patch

Unfortunately I have to agree with this, the most recent examples I’ve had, are heavily scratched leather on the steering wheel of my old Mk8, I feel they knew they’d done this as when I went back the next day and complained they booked it straight in for a new wheel without any questions! And very recently on my 8.5 I had the seemingly common tweeter rattle in the A pillar on the driver side, they changed the whole A Pillar trim and tweeter under warranty, which was great. However. They returned it like this.. 😡 Group1 Swindon, avoid at all costs (particularly service) completely uninterested, and NEVER answer the phone! I even called them when I was sat there looking at them, all three were sat looking at there own mobile phones, no other customers at that point, and they let it keep ringing until it went to the front desk. Because of this it has been over 3 months since they said they’d replace it again, but they are not contactable. Useless!
