Time to upgrade your phone Watts
Or buy an iPod if you still use a PC?

I’ll sit and have a play at adding favourite stations myself next time I’m in the car just to make sure I’ve told you the correct sequence. It’s been a while since I last fiddled with it.

Collected it! Nearly new 8.5 Clubsport in Oryx white, Black Edition, Performance Pack with HUD and area view. Feeling a bit overloaded by tech and options at the moment but settling in gradually. Had to google how to put a postcode into the satnav...

@Watts; looks great  . Enjoy!

The radio has a favourites setting, go in there, hit the + ‘button’ and add your choices from the list.

Edit to that. Go into the radio list, click on a chosen station, highlight it and keep your finger pressed on it for a few seconds and the setting will take you to the favourites screen, press the + (add) logo and that station will be added to your favourites.
Knew I was missing some steps earlier.

Got some old man radio stations set as favourites, thanks Exonian, but it seems you can't flick through them using the steering wheel buttons as in the old car. It just goes to the next DAB station in alphabetical order. Got quite a lot of other personalisation sorted too.

Also fitted a genuine VW warning triangle as the gap in the tailgate trim was rather unsightly.

Today also saw me drive a 130 mile round trip on 50/50 motorway/A roads and we are settling in very nicely indeed

Where did you get the warning triangle from Watts?
I keep thinking I need to get one for mine, but nearly 5 years later I still haven’t.

Talking of OAP radio stations, when going through the “how do I actually program the favourites?”  thing sat on the driveway I found a Xmas station! 🎅🏼
A few weeks ago I was out and about on a Friday evening mooching along behind Friday evening Sunday drivers so had a flick through the radio stations. First up Radio 1, nope I’m far too old for that dance stuff. Radio 2? Nope, awful and for proper oldies. Radio 3? Too cultured for a peasant like me. Radio 4? Politics, move on… Radio 5? Sports waffle, yawn. Radio 6? I had high hopes as an indie kid back in the day… nope, it was radio’s equivalent of The Guardian’s arts section (not that I’ve ever read that paper or have any idea of what’s in their arts section).
Ok, as a fledgling OAP I ended up back on Radio 4. I didn’t realise how loathsome Jacob Rees-Mogg was until that point. I’m still not having Radio 4 as a favourite though. Not yet at least
No commercial stations in there I’m afraid, I can’t stand adverts.

You unfortunately have to go back to the favourites screen and prod an icon to move between your ‘favourites’ I’m afraid.

Good to hear you and the car are bonding

Also fitted a genuine VW warning triangle as the gap in the tailgate trim was rather unsightly.

When I got my clubby, I thought there was a cover missing from the tailgate, and asked the supplying dealer to get me one, that’s when I found out it was a gap for the warning triangle! Be nice if there was a cover though for when it’s not fitted, looks rubbish otherwise.

I happened to have one lying around at home, from an old boot tray / tidy kit I had in a Seat Ibiza years ago. Tried it and it fits perfect… So I reckon most of not all VAG warning triangles are the same! (Might help you Exonian when looking for one).
Prior - MK2 GTi Big Bumper in White
Current - MK8 GTi Clubsport in Moonstone Grey

Just off ebay, about £20 although a main dealer may well be cheaper. I went ebay as I wanted it sharpish and that they did.

I have R4 saved as they often have plays on which keeps the OH happy. Plus Classic FM (on DAB, they need to change) and Gold. The standard system sounds plenty good enough for me too.

Bummer with the channel changes, a bit of a faux pas by VW. Why would you want to flick up and down every station?

I think you're right. Part number looked the same to me but different prices for different models. I only went for the one I did despite it being a higher price as I wanted it right but also quick.
