Good to see your wheel centres are properly aligned Ceefeesh!

DrG, nice subtle Clubsport badging, it addresses the issue VW neglected.

BillSan, a nice positive start with the Goodyears then. Knowing Potenzas the rears will last another 30k 😁

If they go on forever I'll switch them to the front Exonian.

Will keep a close eye on wear between the two sets.  :smug:

Shove the Bridgestones on the front and do a few runs up Santa Pod to finish them off!

Re fitted my Adelaides after cleaning and ceramic coating them. Then washed my car with Gyeon Bathe+ shampoo. The car was ceramic coated by willni in February. Apologies for the wheel centres Exonian. 🤦‍♂️

Looking gooood Ceefeesh/EngineCover

My caps don’t line up anymore since I had new tyres fitted (followed by a puncture), I’ve learnt that there are just about more important things to worry about but I do still have a nervous twitch about it.

On that subject, has anyone got dynamic centres?

I’ll get back to you on that.  Dynamic GTI centre caps now ordered but takes bout a week for delivery. They have GTI written in the Mk8 font.  :embarrassed:

Are they genuine VW? Are they cheaper than dealers?

They are genuine VW centres, they were a dealer price; stupidly expensive and in very short supply. I nearly bought a set in October last year but instead bought the Borbets. Now I have put the Adelaides back on I decided to complete the look

Ahh I see, I didn’t realise VW did them with GTI logos instead of VW roundels.
I also wasn’t sure if there were Eastern European sellers knocking stuff out at discounts these days. I’ve lost touch with these things following a self imposed ban on modifying cars!

Well today has been a busy day for me. I had intended to refit the airbag and centre caps tomorrow but decided to finish them tonight. I fitted the Mk 8 Golf R paddles which is a fiddly job and took quite a while. There are few good guides on how to do this. The best I could find is Deutsche Auto Parts video on YouTube about Which Mk8 parts fit a Mk 7 and Volanty net Mk 8 steering wheel and airbag removal. Unlike the Mk 7 the Mk8 has three clips to release the airbag. This cost me a couple of hours to figure out. Here’s a picture of the Mk 8 R paddles fitted.

I also fitted the official VW GTI dynamic centres which I think suit the Adelaides. Exonian, the centre caps will always be aligned! 🤦‍♂️

I have made quite a few changes now. In addition to the Mk 8 R paddles and GTI wheel centres, I have added a RacingLine bonnet strut, Skoda washer cap, changed the footrest, added sill inserts, sill stickers, air bag delete sticker, and mats with the broad red border.I have fitted Osram Dynamic mirror indicators and black mirror caps, a Mk 7.5 spare and tool kit and a warning triangle. I have a set of 18” Borbet Y wheels and all season tyres too. Willni ceramic coated the car for me in February this year and I ceramic coated the Adelaides a couple of weeks ago. I have a carbon fibre engine cover ordered and that’s probably it. I need to resist changing now.
