I have the Mk 5 rubber ones fitted at present using only the spreader rivets and they’re still on the car-shame the Mk 8 covers couldn’t fit over the Mk 5 covers-would that work,or would it disrupt the airflow?
My thinking being,it’s double protection.

one or the other as both items "shrink wrap" around the metal arm...the MK8 aero covers are thin plastic & do provided protection to the arm...however on the bigger SUV types VAG will not fit & you get the MK5 rubber covers as if you are doing off-roaing you could rip the covers off if reversing & they catch of stuff as they protrude from the rear of the arm..to create a smoother air flow....

PS I have a set of MK5 rubber covers also in the garage now...just one of those things with moding...

PPS...& I'm glad people can make use of the info...!!..

I have two sets of floor mats and noticed today that one set is considerably thicker and heavier than the other, even though they are both VW mats. Not sure if the thicker ones may help to deaden some of the road noise.

Hi, I was wondering where the best place to get the 'aero parts' is? E-Acca seems the favourite but have quite long delivery times.

Hi, I bought mine from the local Audi dealer, it was there 2 days later and the price was virtually the same as E-Acca.

Good to know IamLee, may well give mine a shot, some folks have commented that Audi deals can be somewhat difficult if you do not have an Audi Vin :undecided:

AI1040, what tyres have you changed to ? You mentioned they seemed a bit quieter.
I think I might have slow puncture. If I can't repair will get couple of new tyres for rear to try to reduce road noise. I have PS4 225/40/18 that I find noisy when not smooth surfaces.
Would consider getting cross climate + all round if would help. Thnks.

Iamlee, Re: sound proofing. I think i am going to order dynamat (as reviews say odeurless) and dynaliner for under rear seat. Will I be able to fit both(in terms of enough spACe)? And MLV on top of those two?
Many thanks

Hey NPR, I went for the Eagle Asymmetric 5's, they do seem a little less grippy than the PS4's but not really run in yet and it has been extraordinarily wet! They do seem quieter, not sure if that is a combination of me / the old ones were very worn

A question for those who fitted the damper... what are your thoughts on the benefits now you’ve had it fitted a while?

Hi, my view after a few months is it does quieten the suspension knocks a little over some surfaces.
I would say not a huge change, but subtle improvement, just seems slightly tighter somehow.
Very little difference to overall noise as that is mainly tyres.
I guess the question is would I bother again?
Marginal, but a yes for me.

golfdave,
I’ve just ordered the Tiguan undertray for the front subframe after reading your write up.
When you trimmed the ribs on the back side,is it obvious where to trim and how much to take off?
Keep the mods going, enjoy reading about them and appreciate the extensive how tos.
