I like them, but I like mine just a little bit more. I wouldn't hesitate to get some ST2 copies for a reasonable price.

Also Purchased the CTEK MXS 5 as my car has hardly moved for 3 weeks, and when I did go to the supermarket in it the other day, even when warmed, noticed the S/S wouldn't cut in for the whole journey (there or back).


It arrived in 3 days from Amazon and had it on charge all day yesterday to get to stage 7. The engine just seems to turn over that bit quicker on the starter, and after nipping to the shops, noticed S/S was cutting back in after only 2 minutes driving (engine not even fully warmed).


Doing to do the wife's Polo over the weekend. Just peace of mind really.

The charger itself was £72 but I also opted for the 2.5m extension lead for £12 meaning I could close the bonnet, lock the car, and just have the lead coming out of the garage side window opening. So I guess this is really stretching the "cheap self isolation mods" somewhat  ;D

It comes with a quick release crocodile set of connectors (for clipping directly onto the battery) and a quick release hardwired cable (one side of which I've connected to the battery positive terminal post, and the other to the main earthing point just behind the battery near the suspension turret.

This means when I need to top it up, I just clip my extension cable to the "permanent" charging socket now near the battery, and clip the other end into the charger lead. Makes things really easy. I can post a photo if anyone's interested ?

Yes please. Also thinking about this unless you have to disconnect the battery to fit it. If it just clips on and maintains the power to the car throughout then it’s a win-win.
