Slightly off topic but while we are talking about things sticking out.....

My last 7R had an issue when it got really cold of the headlight washes sticking out, now I'm not talking about after I used them, it did it over night during a frost! I never did figure it out as when the temperatures returned to slightly more normal levels they went back to normal, after a few days driving round looking stupid! Just for my curiosity anyone any ideas why? :undecided:

Yep been there done that.....screenwash frozen.....they are "pumped" out by the pressure of the screenwash being pushed through the hoses & they are on a spring retractor....screenwash freezes..& the mech goes solid...

Makes sense... has there been a redesign on the 7.5 then because we've had some really cold temps and my current car has never done it, thankfully?

oh and as a side note to my side note..... sorry. I saw my old 7R being driven by a woman last night and she was absolutely hammering it, big dent in the rear quarter and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned since I part chopped it 8 months ago.... it was kind of heart breaking to see it like that, but at least the screen washers weren't poking out!

Ahhh yes, headlight washer prolapse...

Not seen that on the 7.5, the 7 definitely did it.

Do 7.5s have headlight washers? I thought they didn't need them.

Booked in for Wednesday to look at the handles.  Hope the fix is something more long term than WD40.

Bit disappointed with this and the leaking door already after only a few months.  Hopefully this will be the last issue and I can get back to enjoying it...

They definitely have them but I'm not sure why.... they do bugger all for the headlights but are pretty thorough at covering your bonnet and emptying washer bottle!!

Easy fix with Carista. Set screw wash pull time to 2.5 seconds and frequency to every pull. Even MOT friendly.
