Door handles sticking
« on: 29 February 2020, 21:45 »
Anyone had any issues with door handles not returning to their normal position after opening the door? A few times both passenger and drivers side doors have stayed stuck out now.

Yes I have also had this issue (only at week as it happens).  I had 2 door handles sticking,  the passenger door and the rear offside door.  I pulled them open and sprayed some WD40 onto the innards,  wiped off the excess and they are OK again for the time being.

Hope this helps.

I thought about some WD40 maybe but wasn’t sure if it was just covering up a problem. Certainly been worse over last couple of weeks (maybe due to weather?)

Also the passenger door doesn’t always shut from the inside. Not sure if this is related at all, but twice this week i had to pull over as the door alarm went off as it wasn’t shut properly (two different passengers).

they get gunged up with dirt...either pull door handle open & use a soft long bristle detailing brush & foam to clean out...or remove (one bolt on door edge)…& clean

Yeah, but only had the car 5 months. Would expect it or needing to spray with wd40.

I’ve got a 19 plate R, and have same problem. Agreed it shouldn’t need oiling already.

I've had this happen a few times on mine, rear doors. No way can they be gunged up dirt, that's for sure!
