Cupra sub 8 Brembo brakes on Clubsport S
« on: 29 January 2020, 13:09 »
Hey guy’s.

Just thinking out loud. Do you know if the above calipers / discs would fit on the Clubsport S? I have been looking at front brake kit alternatives and really like the OEM feel of the Brembo kit of that platform so I was just wondering. The REVO kit looks sensational also but would like to go down OEM route of thought first.

Anyone got any idea on current prices also? Cupra.net has prices but they are four years old.

Cheers.

You must be running some serious power to need to upgrade the brakes on a CSS!

NOW - 330e M Sport
GONE - 2018 Mk7.5 GTI Performance 5dr DSG, Tungsten Silver, 2017 Mk7.5 GTI 5dr DSG, Indium Grey

CCS brakes are rubbish & NOT IMHO "Clubsport".....just single piston R brakes with cheap version two piece discs which are directional, but not made for left & right so one rotates the wrong way!!

To the OP, forget the sub 8 pack Seat brakes, totally stupid also....

Best course of action has been done by several on the MK7 Golf forum ..

For 100% MQB platform OEM...Audi TT-S 4pot ATE calipers which use your existing 340mm discs....straight bolt on..downside no pad removal slots so you have to remove the caliper…

Or Porsche Macan 4 pot Brembos...these bolt straight on..& use the MK6 Golf "R" 345mm discs as straight fit as the Macan calipers are made for 345mm discs.....you will require special hoses to be made...these calipers have pad removal slots..

Both above options there are several two piece discs made by dba or Tar.ox…

Anyway loads of info here:-

P.S. if you run the Macan calipers, you can use the 340mm discs..however the 345mm discs will require the discs splash shield to have the lip bent out of trimmed off..

Plus you can run 18inch & in some cases 17inch alloys...some aftermarket ones at 45et without spacers, & some with...all depends on the spokes being dished outwards or inwards...

Thanks for all the replies guys. I’m just thinking ahead project wise and I really think that’s what the CSS is missing is proper big brakes up front. Where is the best place to source these parts? Besides the usual ebay etc.

Depending on your intended use then a proper set of discs and pads would be a more cost effective upgrade.

If you definitely want to go BBK then there are plenty of options from caliper upgrades over existing discs as golfdave has mentioned or go with something like the Forge kit etc.

The Revo kit produced by Alcon look beautiful and I would imagine a proper kit. Wonder if you could get Clubsport S on the side instead of REVO??
