DTD price includes road tax at the new April rates where I not sure dealers always does. Worth confirming as I’ve had a dealer match DTD then add £500. Just a thought.
Current: Clubsport45, white, DCC.

Past: Mk5 gti blue graphite, mk6 gti carbon grey, mk6 gti edition 35 candy white, Mk7 pp gti tornado red, 2016 Audi S3 sportback, 2019 7.5 Golf R.

Got a quote from another dealer around 50 miles away and they couldn't get close. Then tried a dealer 174 miles away and they could only do 200 quid cheaper. Not worth the hassle getting there and back etc.

Went back to my local dealer again - 7 miles away - and we checked the stock cars again. There was a Performance Pack, 5 door, DSG, keyless, Isaac blue on the boat on its way over. Bravo  - I'll take that! Exactly what I wanted apart from the colour, however when viewing an Isaac blue in the showroom, such a nice colour and still dark which is what I was after. Contrasts the red gti trim perfectly.

Dealer wouldn't budge on the car wow price, so tried to get them to throw in the service plan and they wouldn't. Agreed the dealer will put a full tank in for me, deal done. 15.3% off list price on pcp with vw.

I could collect the car end of this month, but I'm in no rush and would seem silly not to wait just another few weeks till 1st March for an 18 plate collection.

Plus gives my detailer time to get into the dealership and give it a ceramic coating before collection.

Roll on 1st March!

Thanks for all the advice guys, really appreciate it.

Not sure I could wait until March either lol.

Well done though, whilst some would have gone to any length to drive the last pennies out the deal, you got a pretty good deal and locally convenient. My time and hassle is worth more than money, I don't know about you :D

Isaac Blue is nice, better than black IMHO but I'd have gone with Atlantic Blue now I've seen a GTI in that.

Don't forget to buy the service pack... and don't add it to the PCP if you can, pay cash for it.

Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Thanks guys, I was wondering about waiting till March.

I've never picked up a brand new car at the beginning of a plate cycle before. What would make you say not to wait?

I've added the service plan and paying separately for it, monthly's aren't affected by it.

Nothing more than just the wait - The reg number isn't something that bothers me - rather have the car then know it's sat in the corner of a dealers storage area.
Although showing that much restraint is quite a virtue.

Fair enough I understand the points

I mean if the car was avaliable in the next week or so then probably would get it sooner. But its on the boat and wont be in till end of Jan. Due to work I cant collect till first weekend of february anyway. They said i can come and check it once it arrives so will see if i can restrain at that point

I waited last year, bought the car the car the on the 30th December and could have collected the middle of January but decided to wait. Car was kept in Grimsby port until the middle of February.

Seen a PP in your colour a while ago and it looked fantastic. You won't be disappointed with it.
5 door GTD in night blue collected 1/3/17
