Golf R spoiler addon fit the GTI?

Of course it would.  The 2 rear ends (exhaust layouts aside) are identical.

I think I would prefer to put that money toward fitting a CS, CS-S rear spoiler, it looks far better to my eyes.

I asked about this yesterday, but I wasn't keen on the price. However, if I had to choose between the Maxton and this, I would go OEM and pay up!

Fitting the CS spoiler to an R or standard GTI is a no-no unless you've very deep pockets / completely daft. You have to change the entire hatch door.


I'd be curious if that R spoiler is a gloss black finish (to match the other gloss trims) or is it matt/primed ready for painting. And how easy it is to fit... I'm waiting for someone else to try first

By all accounts, it's gloss black and attaches via adhesive trim tape.

I'm tempted, I certainly don't want to go changing body panels. I do recall a thread now where someone said the hatch is the "lower" spec golf hatch to allow for the clubsport spoiler.

The Club Sport roof spoiler can be used only in conjunction with tailgate 5G6827025H or 5G6827025Q.

At 1299EUR, I think I prefer the small subtle black trim @ £235

That's right, the CS rear hatch is actually the same as that fitted to base spec Golfs - the ones that don't have the GTI/D/R small spoiler.
