Ok, so ideally... what should they be?
What are the OEM GTI wheels?

OEM is 49mm offset so 5mm as per mustard's set up would work fine.
15 front and 20mm rear would fill the arches reasonably well.

@Cocopops I run 17” Monza wheels off my old MK5, they are a snug fit because of the bigger brakes on the PP & they take a 225 tyre - can’t remember the offset; also because they are a VW wheel my insurance company are quite relaxed so don’t get hit with additional premium for aftermarket wheels

Ahh that’s good to know. I assumed the 17monza wouldn’t fit.

Cocopops - just fitted my winter wheels today this should give you an idea, big gap between wheel and arches because it had just come off the jack and needs to settle a bit - excuse the dirty car I gave it a quick snow foam blast after the photo

I think i am running 8" with ET 45 which is pretty much the stock 18" after market set up.

I've got the TSWs on this year as they are due a refurb, in reality I'd probably run my Pro Race 1.2s by choice but they still have the Cup 2s on which are a bit fruity in lower temps
