Ouch   I feel for you.

Kuga owner should really reverse into their drive with such poor visibility and cut down the height of the shrubs !

And if not, at least keep the vegetation in the front garden at a sensible (low) height, so they can see and be seen when when reversing out of the driveway.

Regarding Insurer and body shops. When I lost my front end my insurer insisted on using Nationwide car clinic. I said I wanted VW bodyshop, they said fine but I need to organise my own tow truck and courtesy car. I yielded.

Yup, its that type of thing they do.

The money they make from backhanders is really quite staggering.

If you took all of this out of the figures for the amounts they "pay out" you'd probably understand why premiums were so high, which ironically is even more money to them.

Absolute racket.

Sorry to see this damage.

When my car got bashed up I simply told DirectLine it was going to my preferred and trusted bodyshop (VW Approved and not on DL's list). In fact it was already sitting in the bodyshop when I told them. They had a guy check it out and had no issues at all.  The bodyshop provided a courtesy car so didn't miss out on that score (ok, it was a Corsa) and the work has all the necessary guarantees.

Yay... got the car back the other day after I returned from my holiday abroad. I have to say, the body shop that directline used did a cracking job. Can't even tell (and I'm fussy), and they even gave me the list of parts replaced (mainly front wing and a brand new Santiago alloy) - all parts genuine VW. The paint match and finish (as well as the panel gaps is spot on - well pleased.

When I actually got the car back a week last Wednesday, I wasn't overly impressed with the refurb that their subcontractor had done on the original alloy (the diamond cut finish under the lacquer wasn't as mirror like and shiny as the rest of the original alloys - i.e. a bit milky and slightly dull. When I pointed this out, they just agreed and apologized for not spotting it, and ordered me the brand new alloy. which was fitted last Tuesday. As a bonus, they gave me the old alloy which although a very slightly different finish (although I am super critical and the wife couldn't even notice the difference :-)), means I now have a genuine 19" Santiago spare just in case I do something silly to one of the others and it needs to be sent to Lepsons for refurbishment.

Anyway, a few pictures - (sorry it's a bit dirty it's been chucking it down all week !)
