If you don't provide evidence for DVLA records the company making the plates are breaking the law (not that it matters to purchaser).  No plates can be made without a couple of bits of info (since 2006? or 2008?), to prove who you are and that you have a right to the registration number, then its held on record for police/DVLA for 2 years (I think), Passport, V5C, retention doc, driving licence, recent utility bill or similar (few others i can't remember).

If you do get them made without any info it seems very slack on the part of the company, so if you have the info take it with you wherever you get them made ,as you should expect to be asked.

My Europl8 plates were bought from their stand at a car show and made up there and then and no docs were needed. The cost me £20  iirc.

Both times I have ordered plates from Europl8 I had to have documents for proof of reg, they must have thought you looked trustworthy

I doubt it as I was hundreds of miles away.  A friend got them on my behalf, so maybe he looked trustworthy, lol.

I was going to suggest either use the same one greencode got his from off eBay as they look pretty good to me

Mine were item number 252467099264 on eBay. Just did a quick check of the postcode on the number plate on the GOV website https://www.gov.uk/number-plate-supplier and it comes up (W5 3JQ) on their official supplier list.

Personally I think they look great. Also, like them as they don't have a coloured border. Saying that the same company also do different coloured borders.

I bought mine from ebay with no personal info required and although I ended up taking them off the car because I think they look crap, they are excellent quality.

I ended up buying some plastic plates from eBay that have been on for 16 months now and still look brand new.
If I was buying again I would ask my dealer to get a set made up from their supplier as my cars original plates were very high quality, flat aluminium plates.
I know the pressed plates are trendy at the moment but I think they only really suit the Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs.

Just to clarify - To register to be a number plate supplier is a basic form with you name, address, phone number and £40, compliance is different. (see below)

Don't know how they get around it.

Just making a quick buck!

TBH, I'm not too fussed. Had them on my Type R for 5 years or so, never got stopped, never failed the MOT and they are made of reflective material with the correct font and spacing
