Hello all,
So it's quite some time since I last worried about how exactly the over-boost is programmed to work on the CS. The initial breaking-in period in September was shortly followed by frequently crappy weather, as well as making up for the stolen time from business and family so I haven't yet had the possibility to thoroughly test exactly how it works. In the end I stopped worrying about it at all by throwing a JB1 on which ensures there's minimum 320-330 bhp on tap (350-360 with over-boost according to BMS dyno runs) but still I would like to know just when and how exactly it's supposed to come on and off, always good to know what your car makes especially under competitive conditions...
A few of the questions I have are:
- Does anybody else feel there is an extra switch after the kick-down switch? It kind of felt like that when I tried to activate it (actually it felt as bad as trying to punch a hole with your foot through the footwell)
- Does it require being in Sport mode? I have a feeling that it does. I usually drive in Individual with everything but dampers set to Sport and I am not sure it comes on in that scenario
- Some have reported that instead of 10" on, then 10" off it resets the moment you lift off your foot of the throttle, so it practically is more available than the official info from VW suggests but I'd need to be on the Autobahn to try that.
Again, the JB1 has given me quite some piece of mind

so as not to worry about VW's idiotic marketing tactics' affect on ECU mapping, but owning the car I'd like some solid, documented facts about it at some point so please share your experiences. Guessing we should have more reports the more we leave Winter behind.
