Going from MK5 to MK7

Hello all, I've been a long time fan of all things GTI.  I've had a MK4 and presently MK5, which will be giving way to my new MK7 which, I understand has been scheduled for build week 49.  When do you guys think the car will be delivered to the dealership?

Its a 5 door, DSG in Metallic Carbon Grey.  Everything else is standard, but when I say standard, it appears to have almost every option as my current, very well specced GTI.  From reading some posts on here, it seems that VW are giving a lot more options as standard, compared to when the cars first started going on sale three years ago.  I'd hazard a guess, its to entice new customers as the model is midway in its life cycle.

There's a facelift due early next year,I believe production of the current mk7 ceases very soon.
You've got a nice vehicle arriving there,I wish I'd missed out the mk6 and saved a few quid as on reflection I preferred the mk5.Carbon grey,lovely colour.

Zayd: I wouldn't get too hung up on missing out on extra equipment the facelift may have - if the equipment levels do go up, the list price will go up accordingly - VW don't give anything away.

The facelifted Audi S3 gets an extra £1300 worth of equipment but went up by more than that. Similarly, when the GTI and GTD got more equipment, including Nav as standard, the list price went up there too.

You never know, VW's facelift might involve hitting it with the ugly stick - plenty of Seat enthusiasts don't like the facelifted Leon pics.

Hi,
I went from a Mk5 SE TDi 105ps to a Mk7 TDi 150ps Match Blue Motion recently.
The difference between the two cars is simply astounding.

Quieter by 85-90%, fuel consumption up by 10-15mpg, acceleration that pushes you back in the seat, closer mesh gear box, interior finish up by 15%+, and the infotainment system  it is something that wouldn't be out of place in the cockpit of an F16 

My only advice would be to have it professionally detailed, its worth every single penny and the two days the process takes.
(Dont let the dealers do anything apart from the PDI and sticking on the plates ie; no drilling)

Finally, finally, finally got a build week allocated - "Your order has been confirmed for production week commencing 05/12/2016."

It's taken 6 weeks from placing the order to getting to this stage

I would double check that it is still carbon grey as I believe that colour was retired from BW45

Still showing as Carbon Grey Metallic on the VW order sheet and it was confirmed several times by the lease company as well as the supplying dealer.  I'm pretty sure if there was a problem with painting the car this colour, I would've been notified by now, to choose something else.

My order was placed in week 39, hence they maybe honouring it as such.

Does it always take that long to get a build week? What is the average length of time and how long after you get a confirmed build date is the build date? The more I'm looking into this the more I'm thinking that my car ordered last week is going to be a facelift.

Think it was something like 5 or 6 weeks or so before I got my build week, but that was 2.5 years ago. I think its been a bit quicker recently...
