You won't be getting a facelift model. You can't even order a facelift until march or April!

Why are they saying that the current model will stop production on week 51 then? Anything after that is facelift.

No sure where else I heard it but I was also told it by a dealer. Makes sense as they are limiting orders now.

I'm guessing that after week 51 builds any other orders in the system won't get a build date until probably July 2017...
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Really? I hope to god I get a current car, not overly enthusiastic about the facelift plus I have ordered all the parts for it.

The order books don't open for the facelift until March so you won't get a facelift model! Any order already placed now will current model year.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

The problem is is that I have spoken to a few dealers and also VW UK and all come up with different stories. VW UK have told me that until I get my confirmed build week they won't know if it is going to be a facelift but that there is a good chance that it will be as they expect the current model to stop production before the end of year.

Can I ask how you know orders for the facelift won't start until March?

That it was from march onwards was in the VW launch of the facelift the other day.

Also, they have not announced facelifted GTD or R yet

I thought that they would be on sale from March so that would mean build weeks starting at the beginning of the year.

Why can't VW be more professional about sales, including their dealers which are some of the most useless I have come across and even their builder website has mistakes.

I contacted the dealer I ordered from yesterday and told them that if I don't have my tracking number by this evening I'm going to cancel the order. I made an appointment with the sales guy yesterday and when I turned up spot on time I was told he was on lunch and that he would ring me when he came back. Needless to say I have not heard off anyone yet.

I read "available to order" from March... which is different.

The dealers a franchises to Volkswagen UK and whilst VW UK can try and impose standards on them they are independent entities. You'll find some good, some bad and some mediocre. The website is down to VW UK...

So, did you cancel the order or was it an idle threat? The dealer has no control over whether or not you get a tracking reference once they have submitted the order, so you are threatening them with an action if they fail to provide you with something that is outside of their control.
