Brake master cylinder size

As above for an 89 16v got home and measured with a vernier no help apparently its 22mm bore? Where is this measurement taken from?

22.2mm is the diameter of the piston and bore in the middle of the thing.  You won't get to see it unless you take it all apart.

The 22mm one is both better and cheaper than the other 20.64mm mk2 master cylinder.

If you ring up euro car partsand ask for a g60 master cylinder thats the better one. Fits direct. They may ask 2 or 4 port. If they dont itll be a 4 port but you just need two planking plugs or two bleed nipples in the ones you dont use. Well worth the upgrade though

what kind of difference does it make to the brake feel when you fit a g60 one?

The brakes come on a little sooner. Better feel to the pedal.
Less pressure is needed to slow the car.
A must have upgrade especially when you put 288mm discs up front

I always thought that a wider bore master cylinder would make the pedal harder with less travel.

Thats what ive just said. Brakes come on sooner...
